The first batch of the Covid-19 vaccine was produced in Russia, as RBC reports with reference to the Ministry of Health.

It is noted that the vaccine was developed by the N.N. Gamalei of the Ministry of Health of Russia.

This is a combined vector vaccine with the working name "Gam-COVID-Vac" (market name "Sputnik-V"), intended for intramuscular administration. It consists of two 0.5 ml ampoules - with the first and second components of the vaccine.

As we reported before, for the third day in a row, Ukraine has recorded a record number of people infected with coronavirus. So, over the past day, 1,847 new cases of infection have been identified.

Also,  President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the country is on the verge of a second wave, so it is worth paying more attention to security measures and lockdown rules.

"The head of state noted that on August 13, 1732 citizens were confirmed to have coronavirus disease in Ukraine. Such figures and the number of hospitalized people indicate that the country is on the verge of a second wave," the statement said.
