Fires in the Luhansk region have been determined as an emergency of the regional level, a natural disaster that could develop into an emergency of the national level. The Head of Luhansk regional state administration informed, as Radio Liberty reported.
Mykhailo Pshyk, head of the regional branch of the State Emergency Service reported that there's no real danger of the fire resuming.
Five people deceased, and 34 ended up at a hospital; half of this number are children. 71 people turned for medical help, too.
The estimated area taken by the fire makes some 5,000 hectares. 1,494 people and 293 vehicles are involved in the operation.
23 living houses and 80 summerhouses were destroyed, and 36 were damaged in the village of Smolyanynove.
The government assigned material assistance for the people who lost their houses.
