Arson is the most likely reason for the fire in the pine forest of Khortytsia reservation park (Zaporizhya region, southeastern Ukraine). Homadske Radio cited Maksym Ostapenko, the director of the reservation park.
The fire took about four hectares of land. According to Ostapenko, there were several seats of fire, which points out to arson; the strong wind complicated the situation, making it harder for fire crews to reach the site.
Extreme fire peril was observed in some of Ukraine's regions on July 26 and 27. Press office of Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported that on Monday.
This concerns eastern regions, as well as Volyn, Zhytomyr, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky, Vinnytsia, Sumy, Odesa and Mykolaiv regions.
