The fire occured in the territory of Panticapaeum archaeological complex in Kerch, Crimea. It destroyed a significant part of the vegetation. As reported by Crym. Realii, scorched land is limited by the fence of the reserve, located in the center of the city on Mount Mithridates.
The fire destroyed the vegetation in the area of excavation of the ancient settlement site, as well as next to the ruins of the acropolis, which are one of the "visiting cards" of the city.
In the media, it is noted that the fires in Kerch occur regularly, as there are many sites with dry grass in the city. In connection with the water shortage and the big length of the territory, firefighters rarely come to the scene on time.
