A fire engulfed the area of some 20 hectares in the woods near Nyzhnioteple, Luhansk region. The incident took palce in the afternoon of September 27. Workers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine put it out at 10 p.m. Sunday, the authority's press office reports.
"As of 7 a.m. September 28, there was no open fire, separate fire seats in bushes and forest beds are being extinguished" the message said.
101 staff members and 38 vehicles were involved in the operations.
Earlier on Monday, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine warned citizens that the level of fire hazard in central, southern and eastern regions is extremely high.
Previously, we reported that several districts of Kyiv were covered in smoke due to the fire in Darnytsky district. There was no open fire but, according to the Kyiv City State Administration, the flames spread to an area of 2,000 square meters. Residents of the capital were asked to stay at home if possible and not to open the windows.
