On April 28, in Chornobyl exclusion zone, two last fire seats were localized, as the Emergency Service of Ukraine reported.

“As of 14:00, April 28, in the exclusion zone, two last fire seats near Kryva Hora and Rudky-Buryakivka were localized. Thus, the forest fire in the territory of the exclusion zone was localized,” the message said.

Currently, the extinguishing of particular places of smoldering of peatland takes place in Dytatkivsky, Paryshevsky, and Lubyansky forestry areas. It will be held by forestry enterprises of the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management.

The radiation background in Kyiv, Kyiv region, and an exclusion zone is within the natural background level.

 As we reported earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with representatives of the State Emergencies Ministry of Ukraine, who took part in extinguishing a large-scale forest fire in the Chornobyl exclusion zone. He handed 22 state awards to the rescuers.
