On the afternoon of July 24, a fire broke out on Khreshchatyk street in the center of Kyiv . It happened in the courtyard of one of the houses, the rubbish was burning. This is reported by rescuers, according to Segodnya.
"The fire broke out at Khreshchatyk, 13. The State Emergency Committee of Kyiv said that garbage was burning there. There is no threat to people, firefighters are working on the spot," the message says.
At the moment, the fire has been localized, extinguishing continues.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
The fire was extinguished at 14:56. There are no casualties or injuries. The fire on Khreshchatyk was caused by the burning of a trash can. This was announced by the press officer of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Situations of Kyiv.
"At 14:20 a message about the fire appeared. Rescuers were immediately sent. As it turned out, garbage in containers was burning in the courtyard of a residential building. At 14:56 the fire was liquidated. Fortunately, there were no victims or injured," Makushenko said.
