Fire breaks out at Mykolaiv seaport

The crews of State Emergency Service quickly extinguished the flames that engulfed the area of 20 square meters

A fire occurred on the premises of Mykolaiv seaport. The State Emergency Service's local branch reported that on Thursday afternoon.

The report says that the fire safety engineer called 101 (the universal phone number of fire department in Ukraine, - 112 International) and said the vent pipe on the territory of Mykolaiv seaport caught fire.  

The on-duty crews of local fire rescue teams and the on-duty shift of the operative centre of the State Emergency Service reached the site. 

The flames that engulfed the area of 20 square meters were put out by 13.20. 

Easrlier, we reported that an explosion thundered at a coke plant in Dnipropetrovsk region. According to the message of the State Emergency Service, 'on January 29, at 3.30 AM, the explosion of the gas-air mixture with the ignition of bitumen took place at three-storey building of resin-distillery workshop in the territory of Dnipro Coking plant in Kamianske. Five persons in critical condition were sent urgently to the hospital'.

The fire engulfed about 200 cubic meters. It was eliminated at 4:07 AM.The technological equipment of the workshop was damaged as the result of the fire. Five people were taken to a hosipital in critical condition.
