The fire on the second floor of the free-standing building owned by Kyiv Pechersk Lavra was localized as the Emergency Service of Ukraine reported on Facebook.
“As of 19:12, the fire at the two-story building at Lavrska Street, 23 was localized up to 400 square meters,” reads the message.
According to the rescuers, preliminary, there are no casualties or victims.
Later 112 Ukraine reported that the rescuers continue their work and dismantle the roof of the building to get to the seat of fire on the second floor. Preliminary, the fire occurred at the lab complex, where the restoration work took place.
“The fire fighting takes place outside as there is the threat to the life and health of the rescuers. We were forced to bring them outside as the wooden ceiling between the second floor and the roof partially collapsed,” spokeswoman of Emergency Service Svitlana Volodaha reported.
The fire occurred in one of the buildings on the territory of Kyiv Pechersk Lavra on January 14 at 16:17.
Earlier we reported that fire occurred at ‘Karpatnaftokhim’ factory in Kalush city in Ivano-Frankivsk region; 20 units of equipment and 110 rescuers were involved in putting the fire out.
