Fines for not wearing masks in Ukraine: Over 2,000 violations in four days

In Ukraine, over 2,000 regulations were compiled on fines for not wearing masks in public places during four days as Health Minister Maksym Stepanov reported.

“During four days, starting from Saturday, November 21, the law acts on the bringing to administrative justice (fines) for not wearing masks in public places. During this time, 2,111 regulations were compiled on the imposition of fines at the site,” Stepanov said.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the proper document on November 6. The law provides the fine for the absence of a mask in the sum of 170-255 hryvnia ($6-9).

Starting from November 21, Ukrainian authorities began to fine for the lack of a mask in public places and transport. The corresponding law No. 1000-IX came into effect today.

During the last 24 hours, Ukrainian doctors observed 13,882 new cases of coronavirus all over the country. 661,858 people got sick since the pandemic reached this country. 307,788 recovered (+8,420 per day), and 11,492 deceased (+229). The largest number of cases recorded during this period was observed in the Dnipropetrovsk region (1,255), Zaporizhya region (1,086), Kyiv (980), Odesa region (976) and Kyiv region (961).
