Over two months of running in the cinema theatres, Ukraine-made movie ‘Cyborgs’ made roughly 700,000 U.S. dollars. The movie’s official Facebook page features the post about it.
Part of the money will go to the families of the deceased defenders of Donetsk airport – the real-life characters, whom the movie is devoted to.
‘The entire production team is deeply grateful for the support that we received during the showtime in cinemas – and a long time before the movie appeared. Thanks to the viewers, ‘Cyborgs’ gathered a record sum, some of which will be passed to the families of the perished warriors. In some cities, the movie’s still running, gathering big audiences,’ Ivanna Dyadyura, the producer said.
As of January 30, 304.646 viewers watched the movie.
‘Cyborgs’ was first aired in December 2017. The production team launched the social initiative ‘IDoCare’, which assumes that every 17 U.S. cents from a bought ticket will go to cover the needs of the families of deceased defenders of Donetsk airport.
