‘While all people discuss new Lanthimos and Twin Peaks that appeared on the internet before the Cannes Film Festival, the program Director’s Fortnight shows the road movie Frost of Sarunas Bartas. It is a bitter view of the foreigner on bleeding Ukraine. It is the dusty military truth that can be heard only in the private talks. From Vilnius to doze Kyiv, calm Dnipro with philosophic Vanessa Paradis, who does not believe in love anymore and straight to the zone of the Donbas conflict. It looks like a territory of Tarkovsky. It is the complicated but patriotic movie. The anthem to Ukraine!', Andrey Alferov, the film critic wrote about the first show of Frost.
