Less people cross administrative boundary line with Crimea, - Border Service

Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service states on the further decrease in the number of people who cross the administrative boundary line with the occupied Crimea, according to the press office of the service. 

It is claimed that the border was crossed by 29 percent less people in comparison with the same period of time in the previous year. ‘Meanwhile, the number of people who headed to the peninsula decreased by 34 percent,’ the Border Guard Service specified.

As we reported, the border guards let out 1,2 million people during New Year and Christmas holidays.  

More than 600 orders of the authorized state bodies were fulfilled, 50 alarms of the Interpol base were implemented. The border guards found out 40 invalid and forged passports, detained 60 people for illegal crossing of the state borders and intercepted 20 attempts smuggling in the total sum of $19,981. 

The workers of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine detected six foreigners with someone else’s or forged passports at two airports in Kyiv and Odesa on January 1, 2019.
