On the evening of September 21, for the first time in five years, a festive salute was launched in Kramatorsk. The reason for this was the 85th anniversary of the Novokramatorsky Machine-Building Factory. It was reported by Kramatorsk.INFO.
It is noted that not all residents of the city were happy about the salute.
“When the program of festive events was published in the media, local groups of social networks rather critically discussed the idea of fireworks, saying that now was not the time for such entertainment, especially since many people still have a mixed reaction to the loud sounds of the shots,” the message says
In April 2014, Russian-backed militants seized Kramatorsk. In the mid-April, Ukrainian troops defended the Kramatorsk airfield, which had significant strategic importance for Ukraine. The military was shelled from heavy weapons. The airfield defense lasted for 47 days, and on July 5, 2014, Ukrainian soldiers liberated Kramatorsk.
