Farewell ceremony to the deceased Russian artist Iosif Kobzon was held in Moscow. This is reported by TASS.

"The civil funeral service for Iosif Kobzon lasted five hours, all the while people stood in line to say goodbye to the singer. According to law enforcers, the number of those who had come approached 6 thousand. The staff of the hall had several times to clean the scene from the flowers," the report said.

It is noted that many Russian artists came to say goodbye to Kobzon, as well as Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

Iosif Kobzon died on August 30 in Moscow at the 81st year of life after a long illness.

Problems with his health have begun in 2001. In 2004, doctors discovered an oncological disease, after which he was first operated. In 2009, he another operation was made.

It should be noted that Ukraine has deprived the People's Artist of Russia Iosif Kobzon of state awards and blocked his assets. The President signed the relevant decree.

Also Kobzon was deprived of the title of honorary citizen of the city of Slovyansk, Donetsk region.

Kobzon repeatedly visited the cities of Donetsk and Luhansk controlled by militants with concerts, declaring the support of members of illegal armed formations in Donbas.

Also, Kobzon was banned from entering the territory of Ukraine, the EU countries and the United States.
