Farewell ceremony for film director Leonid Kanter underway in Kyiv

Friends, relatives and colleagues of the deceased Leonid Kanter came to say goodbye. The ceremony took place in Kyiv on June 6, censor.net reported.

In his death note, Kanter asked to sing a song at his funeral, which was done as he requested.

On June 7, the production team that worked with Kanter on his last film will go to Paris for the premiere of the movie. The film called 'Myth' tells about the Ukrainian opera singer Vasyl Slipak, who served with the military as a volunteer; he deceased in action in Donbas.

Kanter left his wife and three children behind.

As we reported, Kanter shot himself at his residence in Obirky village, Chernihiv region, northern Ukraine, on June 4. The police are figuring out the circumstances.

Leonid Kanter was the famous Ukrainian film director who shot films about the volunteers in the Ukrainian military who fight the Russian mercenaries in the ongoing Donbas conflict.

According to the State Cinema Agency of Ukraine,'Myth,' the documentary about the life and death of Vasyl Slipak, the Ukrainian opera singer, was aired in the cinemas across Ukraine in February 2018.
