The Ministry of Defense will pay $53,000 each as a one-time allowance to members of the soldiers killed in the An-26 crash. Deputy Defense Minister Ihor Starobinsky announced this at an extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
"A decision has been made to pay a lump sum allowance to family members of killed servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The amount of payments is $53,000 for each. The amount of payments will be at the expense of the funds of the Ministry of Defense," Starobinsky said.
It is noted that payments are guaranteed by the law on social protection of military personnel and their families.
Also, Prime Minister Denys Shmygal instructed to find out whether the crew was insured, as well as whether payments are provided from the Social Insurance Fund in case of accidents for military personnel.
On September 25, when approaching at about 20:50 on the Kyiv-Kharkiv-Dovzhansky highway, near the military airport of Chuhuiv, Kharkiv region, an An-26 military aircraft of one of the military units fell and caught fire.
