The bodies of three seamen who deceased in the shipwreck off the coast of Turkey in the Black Sea on January 7 were handed over to their relatives in Ukraine. Ukrinform news agency reported that on Friday morning.

According to Ukraine's consul in Turkey Borys Yasynsky, the remains of the Ukrainian sailors who died in the tragedy were delivered to their families in Odesa, Kharkiv and Cherkasy.

The bodies of one more Ukrainian sailor and the Azerbaijani captain of the same crew have not been found.

According to the unofficial data provided by the Turkish emergency services, the search and rescue operation has been stopped. The decision was made because the Turkish side said it made no sense anymore in keeping it running.

However, the Ukrainian side insisted that the person whose body was not found would be officially credited as missing, and the relatives will file all the necessary documents.

The surviving sailors had returned to Odesa.
