On Monday, August 20, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported an extreme level of fire hazard in most regions across the country. The press centre of the authority reported that, specifying that Class 5 hazard will prevail in most regions, except for certain western and northern areas and in Kyiv region.
In central and southern Ukraine, the average maximum temperature is now holding at the rate of 33 degrees above zero by Celsius.
Recently, Lviv and Kyiv suffered the aftermath of severe thunderstorms and heavy rains. Kyiv Zhuliany airport had several flights canceled due to poor weather conditions.
Seven local residents had to be evacuated from flooded houses. The people were temporarily placed in the regional hospital where they spent the night, after the recession of the water, they were back home.
As a result of the inclement weather conditions about 50 houses were flooded, and a couple of dozens of cars occurred in the water.
According to the messages on the socials, the downpour started around 8 p.m. and lasted less than one hour. As a result, artificial dams formed and flooded the central district of the city, which is in the lowland.
No information on injured people and collapses reported.
