An explosion occurred in an apartment building on Jan van der Heidenstraat in the Hague on January 27. A part of the three-story house was destroyed. This is reported by the RTL Nieuws channel.
"As a result of the explosion, nine people were injured, seven of whom were taken to the different hospitals. The fire service is now searching the surrounding houses. There is at least one more person under the rubble," the report said.
According to preliminary data, a gas explosion occurred in the house.
The police and rescue services work at the scene, other details are not reported.
Earlier a strong explosion thundered in a bakery located on rue de Trevise in Paris downtown. As a result of the blast windows in neighboring houses were broken. This is reported by Le Parisien.
Le Figaro reported that 12 people received serious injuries after an explosion in a Paris bakery, five of them were in critical condition. Another 24 people received minor injuries. In total, 36 people were wounded.
According to the preliminary data, the explosion occurred due to a gas leak. A fire started in the building after the explosion occurred.
Rémy Heitz, the Paris prosecutor, said that the blast had been “manifestly accidental,” telling reporters at the site: “First there was a gas leak, then the arrival of the firefighters, followed by an explosion that caused the fire.”
