The number of those who lost their lives in Beirut explosion now amounts to 157 people. Aljazeera reported that, citing the authorities.
"Officials said the death toll from the explosion killing at least 157 people and injuring 5,000 others, was expected to rise as search and rescue operations continued for people listed missing under the rubble in areas near the port", reads the article.
Several Ukrainian citizens are among the wounded, Ukraine's Embassy in Lebanon reported.
The volunteers of the Red Cross, who work at the site, are warning that the number of the victims increases as the search of the missing people continues at the port. This number includes employees of the enterprises who were at their workplaces at the moment of the explosion.
On August 4, the video of explosions in Beirut, the capital and the largest city of Lebanon, appeared on social media. The media reported that the number of deceased exceeded 100 people, 4,000 people wounded. The surroundings of the incident city turned into ruins.
