At least 25 people deceased due to the explosion in Beirut, Lebanon. Healthcare Minister Hasan Hamad reported that as quoted by Aljazeera. The official claims that the blast also inflicted injuries on some 2,500 people.
As is known, a huge explosion took place in the seaport of Beirut. According to the preliminary reports, saltpeter could blow up at the local storage of confiscated explosives.
The explosion is already being equated with nuclear strikes on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The blast emitted an enormous shockwave, which reached Cyprus.
Neighboring Israel claimed it had nothing to do with the tragedy.
Ukraine's Embassy in Lebanon urgently asks to report on any Ukrainian citizens who could be affected due to the explosion; currently, the authority has no information about Ukrainians who suffered in the disaster.
"Due to explosion in the port of Beirut on August 4, 2020, call the hotline of the embassy: 0961-592-16-68", reads the message on Facebook.
