An explosion occurred during a wedding in the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul. It took lives of at least 63 people and injured more than 180, TOLOnews reported.
The incident occurred at about 21:00 Kyiv time. Guests of the Shahr-e-Dubai Banquet Hall celebrated the wedding of representatives of the Shia Muslim community. Many people attended the wedding.
According to the latest data, TOLOnews reports at least 63 dead and more than 180 injured. The wounded are now in the city hospitals.
No terrorist group claimed responsibility for the explosion. Later it became known that, according to witnesses, a suicide bomber blew himself up near the stage, where at that moment there were musicians, youth and children.
We recall that in early August a similar incident occurred in Kabul: a suicide bomber detonated a bomb near the police department, killing 14 people and injuring 145. Note that this explosion occurred the day after the Taliban called on the Afghans not to participate in public events on the eve of the presidential election, scheduled on September 28.
The United States previously held talks with the Taliban in Doha, which were aimed at concluding a peace agreement that would reduce the US military presence in Afghanistan.
