July 31, in Udachne, Pokrovsky District of Kyiv-controlled Donbas, an explosion occurred at a mine. As a result of the accident, ten miners were hospitalized, the press service of the State Emergency Situations Service reported.
"The explosion took place at about 5:12 am in the northern field conveyor road at the horizon of 815 m. According to preliminary information, ten miners were wounded as a result of the explosion, now they are hospitalized in the Central Regional Hospital in Pokrovsk," the message reads.
Currently, the cause and circumstances of the incident are being established. The paramilitary rescue detachment (6 people and 1 piece of equipment) is working at the scene of the incident.
As reported before, a mine worker deceased at Zhovtneva mine of Kryvyi Rih iron ore plant. The man was crushed against the wall with a mechanical loader; he died instantly. In April 2021, a ventilation system in the coal mine named after Oleksandr Skochynsky malfunctioned. More than 300 miners were trapped under the ground.
The miners produce agglomerating coal; over 45 years in service, they mined some 30 million tons of coal. The maximum depth of mining works in 1,350 meters below the ground.
