Explosion at Chinese petrochemical plant kills 8 people

About 10 people got serious injuries as a result of the incident

Eight people were killed, nine got injured in the blast at China petrochemical plant in eastern province of Shandong. This was reported by Reuters.

"An explosion rocked a petrochemical plant in China's eastern province of Shandong on Monday, killing eight people and injuring nine," the message says, referring to state media and local government representatives.

Thus the authorities confirmed the deaths of seven people who had been reported missing.

Incident occurred at 1 a.m. at night, firefighters were called at the scene right away.

The explosion also triggered fires at the loading area of Linyi Jinyu Petrochemical Co. Ltd. in the Linyi Lingang economic development zone.

As it was reported earlier today, large scale fire started near Kyiv in Brovary at the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
