"Ukrainian experts have succeeded in identifying the first body of a Ukrainian who died near Tehran on January 8, after an Iranian missile hit a Ukrainian International Airlines (UIA) plane," the statement said.
It is the body of one of the pilots of the Boeing 737 liner. Ukrainian specialists were getting help from Canadian aviation experts.
It is planned to identify the bodies of all Ukrainians killed in a UIA plane crash this week.
As we reported earlier, the aircraft of Ukraine's Defense Ministry will return from Iran with the bodies of 11 Ukrainians who deceased in the recent plane crash in Tehran. Oleksiy Danilov, the Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, posted that on his Facebook page.
"The plane of Ukraine's Defense Ministry will get back from Tehran only after all procedures are completed when we'll be able to recover the bodies of all 11 citizens of Ukraine who perished in the plane crash", he wrote.
Danilov claimed that the Ukrainian specialists would get reinforcements as needed.
