November 16, Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov held a meeting with the Ukrainian community in London. Sentsov met with the Diaspora that has been supporting Ukrainian political prisoners, kept in Russian jails, for five years, as he wrote on his Facebook page.
He added that the meeting was very sincere and touchy, and thanked the audience for their support. Sentsov has also remembered the political prisoners who are still kept in the Russian Federation, and noted that Ukraine continues to fight for them.
As we reported on Novermber 15, Oleg Sentsov received the Magnitsky Human Rights prize. It is awarded for journalist investigations regarding human rights issues. The awards ceremony took place in London.
September 7, Ukraine and Russia exchanged prisoners in the 35-for-35 format. The list of released Ukrainians includes 24 sailors detained in Kerch Strait in November 2018, and 11 political prisoners, including Oleg Sentsov.
