Obolon district court of Kyiv judged the former Ukrainian army serviceman for illegal storage of firearms and ammunition. The man faced four and a half years in jail and the psychiatric treatment. The respective verdict was announced on October 18.

The investigation found out that in 2014, the ex-serviceman and his accomplice put a hand on a large number of firearms and ammunition; that included a rocket-propelled grenade launcher with dozens of charges, hand grenades, AKM machinegun, several thousand rounds and 100 grams of gunpowder.

In 2014-2017, the man brought the arsenal from Donbas to Kyiv; he sold some of the weaponry for some USD 2,000 in March 2017. In May 2017, he was arrested, and the police found the rest of the weaponry stashed.

The serviceman admitted his guilt.
