In Egypt, during a dive near the city of Dahab, the former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine Viсtor Hvozd did not swim after the dive. Strana stated this with reference to the source.
Immediately after his disappearance, rescuers began searching for his or his body. The situation was taken under control by the Ukrainian embassy in Egypt.
According to the Obosrevatel, rescuers found the man. On the shore, he underwent cardiopulmonary resuscitation and was rushed to hospital. Doctors pronounced the dead.
Note that there is no official information about the death of the former head of intelligence at the moment.
In February 2014, Hvozd was appointed the Chairman of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine. Released by Poroshenko's decree on April 29, 2016.
Victor Gvozd is a personnel intelligence officer. He served in various command and staff positions in the early 1980s. He participated in UN peacekeeping operations in the former Yugoslavia, worked as a defense attaché at the Embassy of Ukraine in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the central office of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
He also worked as a representative of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN in New York, was a member of the Ukrainian delegation to the UN Security Council, served in the Security Service of Ukraine.
Prior to his appointment as the Commissioner for Control over the Activities of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, he was the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of the National Guard of the Svoboda All-Ukrainian Union.
