Investigators of department of the State Bureau of Investigations informed an ex-official of Ukraine's Armed Forces of suspicion. He is suspected of the careless service attitude, which caused tough consequences - actually, damage to the state budget. Press office of the State Bureau of Investigations reported that on January 6.

According to investigation, the former official conducted financial malpractice during construction of four barracks in Bakhmut, Donetsk region in 2018. Besides, contractors submitted erroneous information in their work completion and acceptance certificate; they claimed they overdid the amount of contracted works, which they in fact did not do. The mentioned officer did not check the actual amount of work and still signed the work completion and acceptance certificate.

The state budget suffered losses to the amount of USD 107,000.

The suspect could face prison term of up to seven years.
