Chief Sanitary Doctor Igor Kuzin admitted the possibility of introducing a lockdown in Ukraine due to the new Omicron coronavirus strain. He told about this in an interview with Suspilne.

"Now we are not talking about a lockdown, but potentially, depending on the development of the situation, anything is possible," he said.

Kuzin noted that it is impossible to predict finally how many patients will appear, what the load will be. At the same time, he stressed that Omicron could lead to unpredictable consequences.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal said that the Cabinet of Ministers no longer plans to introduce total lockdowns in Ukraine.

At the same time, a wave of Omicron strain is predicted in Ukraine.
