In 2019-2020, Ukraine manufactured 13,800 cargo cars, 2,700 of which were equipped with axial pins bought from the Russian Federation. Thus, every fifth freight car in Ukraine has Russian components in it, Obozrevatel reports.
"According to the media, Russia's Federal Customs Service reports that Ukrainian freight car manufacturers imported 5,400 pieces of axial pins from Russia. That allowed to equip 2,700 cars", reads the message.
Over these two years, Kryukivsky freight car factory (KFCF) appeared to be the largest importer of axial pins. The enterprise, which is based in the Poltava region purchased 3,841 pins from Uralskaya Kuznitsa factory in Russia. "Thus, the KFCF's share in the overall import of Russian axial pins to Ukraine made 71 percent", reads the message.
The outlet reminds that in 2020-2021, the KFCF also imported 2,692 wheels from Russia - from the plant that belongs to an enterprise run by famous Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.
