According to research, every fifth child in Ukraine suffers from sexual violence. Mykola Kyleba reports.

“Regarding statistics, studies show that one in five children in Ukraine suffers from sexual violence. In addition, indeed, the figure is quite serious. I would like to say in more detail that this is not only rape, sexual violence can occur in different ways - it can also be and harassment," – Kuleba said.

According to him, both boys and girls suffer from this. Kuleba noted that these studies were conducted not only in Ukraine, but also around the world, and in this regard, our state does not differ from other countries.

"There is a high level of violence in every country. As studies show, these are mainly people who are familiar and close to the child - they are relatives, they can be uncle, aunt, grandfather, grandmother, so these crimes are so difficult to investigate and expose," - Children’s ombudsman added.

As we reported, child abuse is the acute problem of modern society. Hundred thousand of children suffer from violence annually. The following report contains a reference to a child modeling studio producing child sexual abuse material in 2001
