The Eurovision organizers commented on the information published in the Swiss tabloid Blick, about the sanctions against Kyiv for the ban on entry to Ukraine of the participant from Russia Yulia Samoylova. This was announced by the organizers of the competition to DW.
On the evening of March 28 an article was published, from which, referring to the Director General of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), which owns the rights to the Eurovision Song Contest, it follows that the organizers of the contest are ready to apply sanctions to Kiev.
Ingrid Deltenre criticized Ukraine's decision to ban the entry of Russian contestant Yulia Samoylova.
"The behavior of Ukraine is absolutely unacceptable," the Swiss edition quoted her words, "I deeply regret that Eurovision is used for political games. Eurovision should bring joy and unite millions of people, rather than turn them against each other."
Further, in an indirect speech, it is stated that if the situation does not change in the coming weeks, the EBU will apply sanctions against Ukraine - up to a temporary suspension from Eurovision.
