The first semi-final of the national selection for Eurovision took place in Kyiv. And the first finalists became Jerry Heil, Go-A, and KRUTь.
The third place went to Jerry Heil, who received 7 points from the judges, but 6 from the audience. The Go-A group became second and received 6 points from the judges, but 7 points from the audience. And so it took a higher position. And the bandura player Marina Krut with the absolute result became the winner of the stage.
In the second semi-final will compete the Moonzoo feat. F.M.F. Sure, Fo Sho, Elina Ivashchenko, Oleksander Poryadynsky, Garna, Khayat, David Axelrod and Tvorchi. The name of the Eurovision participant from Ukraine will be determined on February 22.
Eurovision itself will be held this year in the Netherlands Rotterdam. Semifinals are scheduled for May 12 and 14. Ukraine will perform in the first of them. The decisive show will be held on May 16.
On January 20, Ukraine announced semifinalists and three judges of Ukraine's National Selection for Eurovision 2020. They are musician and actor Andriy Danylko (Verka Serdiuchka), singer Tina Karol, and general producer of radio holding #1 in Ukraine TAVR Media, Director General of Hit-FM – Vitaliy Drozdov.
The results of the draw for semifinals appeared on January 22.
Before the first semifinal, 15 out of 16 contestants have released their songs. Katya Chilly is yet to present her song, but it is known that it is called ‘Pich.’
Eurovision 2019 winner was Duncan Lawrence from the Netherlands and the winner of the National Selections will gain the chance to represent the country in Rotterdam.
