Eurovision 2019: Ten countries make it to final round

Another ten semifinalists, the host country's performer and representatives of the Big Five of Eurovision founder countries will also perform in the final on May 18

Tel Aviv successfully hosted the first stage of Eurovision 2019. According to the results of the first semifinal, ten countries made it to the ultimate round of the European Song Competition. These are Greece, Belarus, Serbia, Cyprus, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Australia, Iceland, San Marino, and Slovenia.   

Another ten semifinalists, the host country's performer and representatives of the Big Five of Eurovision founder countries (the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, and France) will also join the final race, which is scheduled for May 18.

As we reported, singer Anna Korsun (Maruv), the winner of the national selection would not represent Ukraine at the song contest “Eurovision 2019”. Maruv said that she was forced to refuse from the participation in the contest from Ukraine due to her tour in Russia.

On February 27, it was reported that Ukraine will not send its representative to Eurovision-2019, which to be held in Israel. The reason was extensive politicization during the national selection. National Television Company of Ukraine will broadcast Eurovision 2019, which is going to take place in Tel Aviv, despite the decision of Ukraine to refuse from the participation in the contest. However, Ukrainians will not be able to vote for the singers.
