European Commission confirms talks between EMA, developer of Sputnik V vaccine

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) holds talks with developer of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus, as Yevropeiska Pravda reported citing a representative of the European Commission.

However, according to the representative, despite the talks, no permissions were provided for the entry of the Russian vaccine to the European market.

“The negotiations continue between the Russian company and the European Medicines Agency. The company has not filed the application yet for receiving marketing permission. However, the European agency is in the process of the preliminary talks with the Russian developer of the vaccine,” he said.

The Russian Sputnik V vaccine is already registered in Palestine, Argentina, Bolivia, Serbia and Algeria. Besides, the vaccine was approved for use in Belarus.

Ukraine does not consider the possibility of the use of the Russian vaccine from Covid-19. Besides, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba claimed he would oppose the idea of us of Sputnik-V vaccine in Ukraine - even if the vaccine's efficiency was clinically proven.
