Fabrice Leggeri, the Director of a European Board Service Frontex, expressed concern on the new refugees’ way to Europe. According to him, more and more migrants are entering Europe through the path from Morocco to Spain, as Welt reports.
“If you ask me what worries me most now, I will tell you – Spain,” Leggeri said.
In June, around 6,000 cases of illegal border crossing by migrants were documented in the Western Mediterranean. Almost half of it was Moroccan, the rest were from West Africa.
“If the figures in this issue continue rising, this path will become the most important,” Frontex Director stressed.
Earlier, at the beginning of July, a Spanish NGO Proactiva Open Arms saved 60 migrants in the Mediterranean Sea.
