Governments of European countries are underachieving in terms of fighting the pandemic of coronavirus. Europe is now the epicenter of Covid-19. Mark Ryan, the head of the WHO program for emergencies in healthcare said so as quoted by Raidió Teilifís Éireann.
The European countries should have imposed tougher restrictions so as to cut the level of incidence. According to Ryan, the free movement of people across the EU should be restricted, because it only hastens the speed of infection spread.
The official added that if every European duly protected oneself from the disease, then there would be no need for the strict lockdown.
According to the WHO data as of October 27, the overall number of people who got infected with Covid-19 made 9.5 million worldwide; over 269,000 deceased, succumbing to it.
In Ukraine, doctors detected 6,677 new cases over day. 355,601 people got sick since the pandemic reached Ukraine; 6,590 died, and 145,336 recovered.
