The Europan Union is about to approve the vaccine from Covid-19 developed by Pfizer and BioNTech next week, December 23. Bild reported that, citing sources in the European Commission and the German government.
Thus, European Medical Agency (EMA) aims to approve the vaccine to start the program of vaccination. It could be launched alrady this month, three-four days after the official approval.
The procedure of issuance of licenses for vaccination in the U.S., UK and the EU varies. So-called emergency licenses have been issued in the U.S., UK and Great Britain. The EMA is not allowed to use such option; it's an independent authority and it is focused on making sure that the vaccine approval doesn't look like political speeding up.
On December 14, the massive vaccination campaign began in New York; a nurse became the first to get the first dose.
Massive vaccination from coronavirus kicked off in the UK on December 8. British citizens from 70 hospital centers all over the country are getting inoculated with Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine.
