The European Commission outlined the criteria for cancelation of the restrictions of the travels for the citizens of non-EU countries, including Ukraine as Evropeiska Pravda reported.
“The citizens of the EU and citizens of the associated states of the Schengen Agreements and the citizens of third countries who legally live in the European Union and the members of their families should be released from the restriction for travel regardless of the fact whether they come home or not,” the message said.
It is noted that a lot of third countries imposed restrictions for travelers from the EU. The third states also should lift the restriction for coming from the EU for equal treatment…But Ukraine still has not lifted the restriction for the entrance of the foreigners due to coronavirus. The recommendations of the European Commission state that the restrictions should be lifted from the third countries, which have comparable or better epidemic situation than averagely in the EU. The main criteria: the number of new cases of infection per 100,000 population, the trend towards the growth of the number of new cases, common response of the country at the Covid-19, considering such aspects as testing, monitoring, contact tracing, deterrence, treatment and reporting.
Besides, the European Commission stated that the presence and reliability of data from third countries should be considered as the key criteria for the opening of the borders.
As we reported, the European Union plans to lift the restrictions for movement through internal borders until the end of June and allow the citizens to move ‘without urgent necessity’ through external borders from the beginning of July.
A record increase in the number of coronavirus cases (689) has been recorded in Ukraine over the last 24 hours. As of the morning of June 11, the country confirmed coronavirus in 29,070 people. Since the beginning of the pandemic in Ukraine, 13,141 people have been cured of the coronavirus, and another 854 have died.
