EU Commission authorized Germany and four other countries to extend the border control at its borders for another three months, until mid-May, informs Die Welt.
"As a basis for the prolongation of this measure, among other things, we highlight the possibility of repeated visits of illegal immigrants who are already in Greece or in other EU countries," the newspaper notes.
In addition, Die Welt note that, despite the measures taken by Germany, Austria, Denmark, Sweden and Norway, these continues are still subjected to considerable stress due to the large number of applications for asylum.
"The heads of Ministry of Internal Affairs of the EU countries want to meet at an informal meeting in Malta next Thursday and Friday to hold consultations on this issue. The prolongation of border control must be approved by the governments of European Union countries," said the publication.
