EU announces tender for drug supply to treat Covid-19

The European Union is searching for companies to set the supply mechanism of 24 drugs for intensive treatment of patients with Covid-19. This is due to high concerns about the new wave of coronavirus expected in autumn. Reuters reported that on July 15.

Tender organizers ask drug manufacturers to submit offers till Thursday, July 16. 

The EU currently experiences a lack of painkillers, antibiotics, muscle laxatives, and resuscitation drugs.

As we reported earlier, the vaccine against Covid-19 has been successfully tested in the U.S.; the initial phase of medical tests is over. The vaccine was supposed to stimulate immune reactions in all volunteers, who received it during the first phase of the test. The primary results showed that the vaccine is effective. However, it may cause a number of side effects, such as fatigue, shivers, headache, and pain in muscles and in the place of injection.

As of early July 15, 55,607 cases of coronavirus were observed in Ukraine. 836 new cases were confirmed over the last 24 hours, reads the report by Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council. 

1,427 Ukrainians passed away from the disease since the epidemic reached Ukraine. 28,131 managed to recover.

Meanwhile, the worldwide number of infected made 13,323,206. 578,625 people died, and 7,399,420 recovered.
