Kyiv’s LGBTQ Equality March will take place on June 23 in Kyiv. The Equality March is one of the events in the frameworks of the KyivPride Week held by the KyivPride, a Ukrainian non-governmental organization aiming at contributing to full respect for human rights for LGBT in Ukraine, at encouraging an appreciation for these rights by raising LGBT visibility and their participation in social processes.
It is also reported that the area for the march shall be separated with the fences and guarded by the police. The supporters are recommended to come early in the morning as the gates shall be closed for the protesters to join the march after 10 a.m.
As we reported earlier, on June 19, a group of perpetrators committed an attack at the participants of Kyiv LGBT rally.
Pride participants injured in alleged far-right attacks in the Ukrainian capital, the Hills reported on June 20. A group of people who attended an LGBT Pride event in the Ukrainian capital on Wednesday were reportedly injured following attacks perpetrated by what the Kyiv Pride director said were far-right groups.
In 2018, clashes between the law enforcers and the representatives of a nationalist organization which was against the Equality March in the capital. Five law enforcers were injured, 57 people were detained.
