Metropolitan Epiphanius enthroned today

The Metropolitan of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine Epifaniy said that the Orthodox Church of Ukraine is ready for the cooperation. The Metropolian reported it after the enthronement ceremony in the St. Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv, broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.

"We want those Orthodox Christians, who live in Ukraine and have not joined the Local Autocephalous Orthodox Church for many reasons yet, to joint it now. We call for the church unity of Orthodox hierarchs, clergy, monasticism, and laity. The doors of the Local Church and our hearts are open to you. Let's bygones be bygones of those, who separated us, and we will work together for the benefit of Orthodoxy and Ukraine as the only Local Church... Our church remains open to cooperation and dialogue with other Christian churches and religious organizations in Ukraine and abroad," Epifaniy said.

Earlier, the Metropolitan Epiphanius of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine has been officially enthroned today.

The ceremony was held during the liturgy at the St. Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv. Thus, Epifaniy has become the Metropolitan of Kyiv and of all Ukraine from the moment of enthronement.
