An 8-year-old girl died because of poisoning in children camp Slavutych, as the autopsy results showed. Oleksandr Gorgan, Chairman of Kyiv Region State Administration said it, Ukrainska Pravda reported.
'An autopsy was performed, we have medical examiner’s conclusions. The autopsy confirmed: the child died from poisoning, which happened on July 2 in Slavutych health camp,' Gorgan said. The Chairman of the Administration stated that the forensic analysis was conducted within the criminal proceeding and the conclusion was attached to case papers, so it must remain confidential.
At the same time, Gorgan said that the Administration is working on the case, deciding on the ways of reacting to the incident. The law enforcers continue investigating the criminal proceeding.
Ukraine’s Health Ministry will appoint an expert committee which will check the quality of the medical aid provided for the child in the camp and in the hospital, as the website of the Ministry reports.
On September 12, an 8-year-old girl who was hospitalized from Slavutych camp, Kyiv region, died, as the press secretary of Okhmatdet Sofiya Kushch said, Liga.net reports. The girl was in a coma since July, she died in Okhmadet hospital. On July 2, her mom took her to the hospital with symptoms of eating disorder.
Earlier, on July 2, in Slavutych private camp, mass poisoning took place in Slavutych private camp in Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi region. 12 children in total were harmed.
As Ukraine’s State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection reported, a spoiled yogurt was the reason for food poisoning.
Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office opened a criminal proceeding.
