Eight killed in road accident in Crimea

A road accident occurred in the annexed Crimea, as a minibus and KamAZ heavy-duty vehicle crashed, killing eight people. Crimea's Emergencies Ministry reported that as quoted by TASS.

The accident took place at Tavrida roadway in Bilohirsk district, at about 6.40 a.m.

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter ran into an idle KamAZ, as the minibus was on its way from Bilohirsk to Simferopol. 15 people, two of them children, were aboard the minibus. The driver deceased on the spot, and KamAZ's driver did not sustain any damage. The wounded were taken to the hospital; the children are safe and unharmed.

Among those four who were hospitalized, there was a pregnant 18-year-old girl. She and other two are in moderately grave condition, another passenger is in tough condition.

Simferopol-based substation of ambulance No.10 reports that another kid is in tough condition after the accident.

In April, a dust storm led to a road accident in Kyiv region. Six cars, including four vans and two light-duty vehicles crashed on the roadway that links Kyiv, Kovel and Yahodyn. The accident resulted in human casualties.
