Drunken ex-soldier of Donbas Conflict opens fire, throws three grenades at police, neighbors

Two persons suffered in the result of the explosions

The police detained 53-year-old drunken former soldier of the armed Donbas Conflict who shot at the civilians from the automatic arms and later threw two grenades to their yard in Zalissya village, Kyiv region. Dmytro Tsenov, the Head of the National Police in Kyiv region reported this on Facebook.

‘The malefactor opened the targeted fire during the detention and threw the ball grenade at the police officers who arrived at the crime scene within minutes. Also, he attempted to escape at the service car. However, he was immediately detained and neutralized at the crime scene’, the police noted.

Also, Tsenov noted that two persons suffered in the result of the explosions – the neighbors of the malefactor. They are provided with the qualified medical service.

The prosecutors opened three criminal proceedings on the attempting to homicide, threat or violence toward the worker of the law enforcement body and illegal handling of firearms, ammunition or explosives.
