The law enforcers detained a Russian man, who removed the state flag of Ukraine from the building of the entertainment center in Vinnytsia. This was reported by the press service of the National Police.

"The 35-year-old man, who turned out to be a citizen of Russia, was intoxicated. It was preliminary established that at about five o'clock in the morning, being near the mall with friends, he climbed the building and removed the flag from the flag mast. Later he threw it away when he ran away from the guards," the message says.

Law enforcers detained the man and took him to the police station. He explained that he had come to Vinnytsia to visit relatives, and had removed the flag because of the bet with an acquaintance.

In fact, criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 1 of Art. 296 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Such an offense is punishable by a fine or arrest for up to six months, or restraint of freedom for up to five years.

In May in the Vinnytsia region, a resident of the village of Pilyava wiped his hands on the State flag. The police opened criminal proceedings.
