Drunk driver damages seven cars in Kyiv, falls asleep in police vehicle

The Honda Accord driver provoked an accident in the Ukrainian capital on Sunday night, crashing seven cars at a time. The crash and the subsequent detention took place near the Dream Town mall, Informator news agency reported.

'According to the police, Honda Accord driver who had EU license plates crashed into a parked Skoda Octavia. The impact threw Honda into a moving Volkswagen Passat, which was mowing in the other lane, and then both cars landed at a parking lot of Dream Town. There, they clashed with another four parked cars', reads the message.

Honda driver's alcohol test showed the level of 2.92 permille. He tried to flee the scene, but the bystanders detained him until the police reached the site. 

No casualties are observed in the accident.

The perpetrator fell asleep in the police car. When he woke up he said the accident started with the children that were crossing the road, so he turned to avoid the collision. However, the witnesses said there were no children there at the time. 

The police has not yet provided any comments.
